With over 40 years of experience, Gymboree’s programmes are designed by child development experts to help build cognitive, physical and social skills in children from 2 months through to 5 years old. Because children learn through play, our classes feature age-appropriate activities that encourage problem-solving and creative thinking. And because adults attend the classes for children under 3 years old, you’ll be an integral part of your child’s learning and enjoyment. To read more, browse our class descriptions.
Our classes are grouped by developmental stage, from 2 months through to 5 years. Babies (2-14 months) covers the youngest stages. Toddlers (10-24 months) is for active little ones discovering independent movement. Pre-schoolers (22 months to 5 years) prepares children for school through structured play. Our International Kindergarten runs from 2.5 years to school entry. If you’re not sure which class is the right fit, get in touch and we’ll happily recommend one based on your child’s age and stage.
Gymboree Play & Music currently has over 800 locations in more than 40 countries. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland there are currently four locations in Munich, Geneva and Nyon.
The majority of our classes are conducted in English. However, classes in local languages are also offered at many locations. Non-native speakers are very welcome. It is a great opportunity to expose your child to a foreign language at an early age.
You can sign up to try a free class in two ways:
1. Click on the Free Class buttons on many of our individual site pages which will redirect you to Teamup – our partner for managing our classes. Here, you can set-up your profile and book a free trial class. Otherwise, you can simply email or call the location you are interested in to schedule a free class.
2. Start by finding the location that is most convenient for you through the Find a Location link at the top of this page. Then choose the type of class at the appropriate age level on the downloadable calendar. Use the contact form, call or email the location to schedule your free class.
Our team will welcome you and your child when you arrive and show you around our centre. For baby and toddler classes you’ll join in alongside your child, while our pre-schooler classes are designed for children to participate independently while parents observe. Each class includes structured play, music, movement and free exploration time. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance – just wear comfortable clothing your child can move in and bring a drinks bottle. If you’d like to book your free trial class, you can do so online.
To register in a Gymboree Play & Music class, start by finding the location most convenient for you. Then, determine the appropriate class for your child (based on age/their current stage of development and your area of interest) and locate the class on the calendar for that location. Once you have found the class you are interested in, select “Free Trial Class” where you will be required to set-up your profile and schedule your first free class. After your free class, you can register directly, at the location, in the class of your choice, which will be emailed to the appropriate location.

Gymboree Play and Music locations are independently owned and operated. Therefore, schedules and pricing may vary between locations. Pricing is typically based on a one-time, lifetime family registration fee plus a monthly or term price (i.e. 12 weeks) for the classes. For pricing information at your location, please find the location nearest you and download their schedule and pricing. Or, you may call the location directly.
Gymboree Play and Music has so much to offer you and your child. You’ll not only enjoy coming to class each week, meeting new parents and children, but also have access to Open Gym sessions for free play, special members-only events, partner discounts and more.
If you have twins or triplets, we welcome up to four siblings to attend the same class in the appropriate age level. If you have siblings of different ages, we offer mixed-age Family Classes in Play, Art and Music. Check your local site’s calendar or call your local site to find out when Family Classes are offered.
Gymboree Play & Music members pay a one-time, lifetime registration fee. This lifetime membership may be used at any Play & Music location worldwide.
Our classes are 45-minute weekly sessions for parents and children to attend together (for younger ages) or short structured learning sessions (for pre-schoolers). The Gymboree International Kindergarten is a full daily early years programme for children aged 2.5 years to school entry, combining the Gymboree curriculum with the standards of a German kindergarten. The kindergarten is bilingual (English/German), staffed by qualified educators and run from our dedicated 121 m² facility in Forum Bogenhausen.
Our kindergarten enrolment is managed through an interest form and waiting list. You can download the interest form from our Kindergarten page, fill it in and email it back to kita@gymboreeclasses.de. We’ll add your child to our waiting list and get in touch as soon as a place becomes available. Main enrolment is in September each year, though places occasionally come up during the year. We recommend joining the waiting list 6-12 months before your desired start date.
Each Gymboree Play & Music location offers different party packages, pricing and scheduling. To obtain specific information, please contact your nearest location. Birthday parties are open to all even if you are not a currently enrolled member.
Gymboree Play and Music has a liberal policy that allows you to make-up classes when you or your child is ill. Make-up classes can be scheduled directly with your Gymboree Play & Music location.
